Muswellbrook

Muswellbrook

Departing the Central Coast, we were heading inland. After all the rain and floods on the East Coast, it seemed like the easiest way to go, but also a road we don’t normally take. We love being close to the water, so we always take the coast road.

It wasn’t a long drive to Muswellbrook, and we arrived before lunch. We had set ourselves up at the Muswellbrook Showgrounds on an unpowered site. The nights were getting cooler, but still not that cold we needed the heater in the van. The Showgrounds have some powered sites, some even undercover. The large open field was a great place to be able to spread out from others.

We went for a drive through town and out to Hunter Bell Dairy Co. We had a lovely lunch in their cafe, I opted for the cheese platter, and you could even choose your own cheeses. They were absolutely delicious. We bought ourselves several cheeses and some paste. They also sell fudge and icecream. It is a must visit when in the area. We had a lovely afternoon, and they are dog friendly, and happily allow your dog/s to join you at the outside eating area.

The town was quite a bit bigger than I was expecting, and there are some lovely older buildings. There are plenty of towns close by that are worth a drive to. Unfortunately we only had the afternoon to spend here, and then it was off again to our next destination.
